Worth to Watch

Observation #4: Attraction usually comes together with effort and time put into it
Looking at some movies that hit high box office record, they are one thing -special/outstanding. Beside that, they are produced with hard work. Time and money are invested into the movie. Looking at Titanic (1997), the film shakes and amazes the world. The movie brings big profits. It's because it is special. It is special because hard work, time and money are expense into it. A fined touched movie can be seen obviously, and audiences know that what movie is worth to pay to watch. Today, Hollywood is involving the technology in their film. They are moving, to a certain extend, they are far ahead of us. Hence, their efforts in production are not only in scripting, lighting, and acting, but also camera works, 3D animation, music, sound effects, and intelligent brains.

Experience It

Observation #3: Big hall and small hall are different significantly
Watching a same movie in two different size of hall, will get no same experience. Small hall does give satisfaction to audience in term of screen size and sound system. It is average. No complain can be found. However, the big hall gives full impact. Screen is bigger, and the sound is superb. One "bang" sound is not just a simple one, but "pbbhhaannggg ..." It affects the watching mood and feeling. When it is time to be exciting, big hall gives you more more exciting with the better sound quality. The dynamic of the sound can be clearly heard. Every sound heard clearly no matter the source is loud or soft, all can be heard in clear. For example, dialogue is loud, the ambient sound -wind is slightly softer, the background music stringing more soft. The contrast of sound is heard.

The Fourth World

My brother taught me "Know your audience". As a film-maker (hoping to be), I have learned my lesson, and begin to get near to the "world" reality. So, I go to work part time in a cinema, in one big shopping complex.

Today was my first day training. My job was very simple -tear tickets. In the mean time, I observed few things.

Observation #1: There is a tendency for a movie watched by a category of people.
Categories vary in many ways. Some are children, some are adventurous people, some are well-educated. Audiences usually come in pair or group. Couple comes to "pak-tor", while the group can be youth, students or family. Group audience is significant to determine the tendency. For example, Disney has done a very good job. Hot movie, Princess and the Frog is showing today. Mostly children go for this show. Some children even come by their own, which means they watch without adult's supervision. Hence, here shows the children is the Princess and the Frog's targeted audience. So, I can say that a good movie has a strong targeted audience.

Observation #2: The audiences are full with expectation while going to a movie.
Audiences who have bought their tickets, generally, they come with light footstep. Hardly seeing them come with a "long" face or a burdened face. Those who come in group were having talking and laughter while walking to the hall room. After they were checked the tickets, they were like having a thought of "faster, faster ...", they walked happily to the hall. From their expression, and my personal experience, they were like knowing the movie title, but do not know the movie content, and expect to know something in later. This is probably why they are coming to the cinema. Despite that they come for social activities, they are unsure the answer of what they are going to know, though they have a rough idea of what the movie is about. Cinema is a place for social activities, but the movies are not. Watching a movie is a choice of activities in socializing. Therefore, the audiences have choice to select a movie, and after choosing, they have expectation for something to know that they are going to know, while they have not know yet.

PC Fair / Girls Fair ?

Ah, just came back from PC fair. Since the trend of PC fair is not only about gadget, but girls as well, so here I follow. This shows that I'm not the only one posting about girls. LOL.

Before I went to the fair, I read some other comments/blog about the current fair. I could see there was more people employed to make it happened -models, promoters, etc. They said got a lot of leng lui. Photographers went there took beautiful pictures. They had cos-play characters too. Alienware made a brilliant idea by taking photograph of potential customer and post the pic to Facebook -good new strategy. These were what I saw from the Internet.

I don't know. I went there and realised ... ah ... Some models are really beautiful. I've been to few hall. I personally think that more female customers are more "leng" (come on, I'm saying in general opinion). The customers are simple and nice. What I dislike is the female promoter with heavy make-up, came with a smiley face, giving me a brochure, hinting "please buy this." I'm not gonna buy that.

They are likely used/payed by company to asked me dig out my pocket to buy something I do not need. Ha ha.

Put It Down

When we are angry at someone or particular thing, we look at God.
Then we will see how small are we, that worthless to take anger for someone.

When I see people how they mistreat me,
I see how I mistreated God.

Function in Areas

It's amazing to see how God uses people.

Not all people have to be a preacher. Not all people have to be a church staff.

An example is here. A software engineer uses his talent to build a software, upgrade it from time to time, so that people can understand God's word more deeply.

URL: http://www.e-sword.net/

The software is consisted bible versus and with greek word, the original text message, so that we can grasp the original language of what is trying to be said.

I have yet to know how far can we use this software (I have just downloaded it), but what I have seen is that God uses every people with different purpose. A musician may compose musics for Him, a teacher talks about Jesus in school, a postman giving good news from house to house, and a writer writes about God. Yeah, it is so amazing. I'm very encouraged to see all these.

Hallelujah! All glory to God.

Hi !

What is your goal in life? In other words, why are you here on earth?

Some people say: "Please lah, don't ask this kind of question, nobody think that before."
Some people say: " Don't know woh."
Some people say: "I want to earn a lot of money!"
Some people really don't know.

There is a God. He created man (human being).

One day, man sinned. Man separated from God.

God sent his son, Jesus to die on cross for us. His blood washed away man's sin. Three days after Jesus' death, He rose again. He has conquered the death.

John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Do you want God comes into your life?

A Movie in My Dream

Wow, what a dream. I just experience a gangster film few minutes ago.

It was like I worked for a group of people. I think I worked for them. I followed them to a new place, I never know that place. I started working there. I was happy.

I found out that they wanted to kill me at night time. I was working. They didn't know that I knew. So, I was trying very hard to escape.

They had a tight monitor on me, so that I would be in their supervision.

In some way, I went to a shopping complex. I tried to SMS one of my ipoh church member.

"I'm going to be killed tonight. This is no joke. Pls check on me. If I don reply in an hour, pls call police" this is what I wanted to send.

I was trying to find a hidden place to text. So, I went to a book shop, and found quite-tall book shelfs. I went between them. I squad down, pretending I'm reading book, but actually typing message. However, while I was one the third or forth word, I was found by them, the group of people. Immediately, I deleted what I had wrote.

They insisted to look at my phone.

They grabbed it. They smiled. I wasn't sure what was going on. I looked back my phone, and realized that they were reading a message I received from a girl. They thought she was my girlfriend, actually she was not.

I couldn't go anywhere else.

In some way, I went to a hotel. People having buffet. I'm not a waiter, but I pretended to take glasses. There was a friend of mine, same like me -caught by the group of people. It was just that he still had not known the inside motif of the group.

I whispered to him, "They are going to kill me tonight." His eyes opened big. I walked off, took the glasses away, not wanting people to know that we talked.

In some way, I went to a cafe in a shopping complex. I saw one of my Ipoh sunday school teacher/Sabah pastor. He was in a conversation with two people.

I called him out. He picked up the phone, and excused himself from the conversation. I told him my situation. He was just sitting a table next to me. It is just because I don't want people to know that I connect to others, I phoned him.

I doubt that he believed in me, but, of course I hoped that he believed.

Again, I was caught again by the group of people. He asked for my phone again. This time, I insist to have my privacy. I think they guessed what I mean, after they caught me "wrong" last time. They still standing there. I smiled and I moved away.

Later, the group leader came to me, showing some pictures -broken legs, faces no eyes, cut hand. I thought this would be me.

They still did not know that I knew they were going to kill me.

Somehow, I went to a room and had a short sex with a woman. (out of topic)

Then, I continued my journey of escape.

At one point, the event at hotel ended. I wasn't sure what event was that. They were packing things to van. They were leaving. It was coming to night. So, I might be killed after leaving.

I avoided to stay contact with anyone from the group. In some way, I hid myself in a room up stair.

Later, I found a back door staircase. I did not know that the door at down stair was open or not. As I was walking towards the staircase, I heard some noise. It was them. They were looking at me.

I ran.

I opened my eyes, I was in a familiar room. It was dawn, seeing a light sun shined through my window. I realized that all these were a dream.

Bye bye

It is like seeing a girl in front, but cannot love her. She is just standing not too far away, with some few other guys. It is just like that.

The girl is just an illustration.

My faculty is organizing a field trip to Bali for 7 days at the end of this month. It is always nice to go oversea. Yet, I know I can't go this time.

The cost is RM1800 including accommodation, foods, transport, and air tickets. How much work do my parents need to work to earn that amount of money? Moreover, this trip doesn't worth that amount.

It is like how I missed my standard 6 school trip to Malacca and Singapore. RM360 was the fee.

It is just a memory that I would miss. By the way, I can go after I work, can't I?

Ouuhh ...

Glory to God

Moving out to stay in other place, I need table, chair and a mattress.

I asked price for these 3 -comfortable one cost me about RM330. If I get a more simple mattress, then the total cost would be RM250.

Then I asked Lord to give me cheaper price.

Just one day before I move, few minutes before I go to shop to confirm buying these 3, my brother SMS-me. He said he was in KL. I was "uhh..."

So, he had bring my father's car to here, that he could send me his table, chair and mattress.

I was "wahh..."

The total cost became zero.

What can I say if not "Praise the Lord!"

Interesting Part of Translation

I came across few words of translation.

Malay to English:
Laksamana ==> Admiral
Bendahara ==> Chief Minister

Malay to Chinese:
Nasi Lemak ==> Yie Jiang Fan

English to Malay:
Oxygen ==> Oksigen
Computer ==> Komputer

That all I can think -simply scribble.

When sometime we put Malay in English, that is fine. When sometime we put English in Malay, it could be an issue to talk about. Uhmm...

Our God is a Good God

Praise God!

My brother and I went to video shoot a pre-wedding ceremony -his friend's marriage. We went to bride and bridegroom's house. We recorded the games and traditions. All went quite well. It's the first time, praise God, the outcome is good. Hallelujah.

On the other side, I'm moving out next month, but I have not get back my previous deposit. It's my mistake to move out at a sudden time. But, I think it is another risk to improve my academic, by staying in a closed environment. I get my own room with a cheaper price. I have posted few posts on few forums. Send out cold SMS to people who are looking for room. However, the respond was not so positive. Yet, I know our God is a good God. What ever it will be, He will never, never, never forsake us.

Good time and bad time, we still praise the Lord -Hallelujah.

Eh ...

Thinking back -it is quite weird.

I'm suppose to do my assignment. I have thought for few days, searched all the websites in the internet. I stil have no idea what fluxus is.

I should write the influence of it.

Rethink about it again. How can I know about this topic? My lecturer has not speak to us to explain in detail about it. He just show some videos, and then ask us to write something about it, and submit in one week.

Rethink it again, how can I write about it? Am I doing what he want, or doing what he should do -submit an another assignment for him to mark and then that's it?

Trust in Him at All Times

God heard my prayer.

My Lord has answered my prayer, hasn't he?

How many time I wish that He could say "yes" immediately.

No, that is not what He want.

How I can put aside my selfish desire, and set time to know what you want?

He Himself has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you' —Hebrews 13:5

Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. Selah -Psalm 62:8

Resting In Christ: Not An Ordinary Rest

I went to TRAC Young Adult Convention, on 29th-31st August.

It was great. Besides good buffet food, hi tea and supper, air cond, and hot shower at Empress Hotel, Sepang, I was fed well spiritually, blessed, and had a great time with the attendee too.

It's great. I felt great. To stay in a hotel, is nothing I can expect more. It's good, especially while having great time with brothers and sisters in Christ. Indeed, it's a time set for relaxing, where I got rid from daily updates -msn, facebook, blogs, emails. There were so many little things that would confuse my day. In fact, that was a time for God's purpose alone. It's refreshing, great, encouraging and challenging.

Dr Leong, who was the speaker in the convention, stressed on the calling in workplace, when he gave his session talks. He said, a career-minded person would pursue the advancement of his/her career. He/she would focus on the selfish area. He/she would frustrate easily. However, when we know our calling, wherever we are, we would be blessed by God, He would take care our needs. It's okay if we are not to be promoted. It's okay we don't get pay rise. He has a plan for us. However, we need to know the calling.

To summarize all things in short, this is it.

The Great Comforter

When we are in need, eg: lack of money, injured, depressed, sad, what do people say to us?

"Don't be sad larh ..."

"Take care of yourself ... "

"You try ask other people and see, Ah Sorh ?"

...etc...

I'm NOT complaining, nor emo-ing. It's just I have to share a person with you.

When people are sick, others usually say: "Drink more water ah!"

In this case, what is the most comforting to hear?

In bible, Jesus said: "Come to me ..." in Matthew 11:28.

This is how great He is. This is how the teachings of the bible. And this is why it's life's manual.

Into The Mood of Celebration !

"Merdeka, Merdeka, Merdeka," did they shout it? How many times they shouted at Dataran Merdeka, and you were there on scene?

Saturday, I went to church, which was just beside Dataran Merdeka, I saw a crowd was gathering at the field. I didn't bother it. I was purposed to attend cell group. It is important to read God's word, it's life's manual.

After it was over, at 4.42pm, I went to kepoh, checked out what was happening in the crowd.

I wasn't sure, as everyone stood up, then sat down again, repeated quite a few time.

Later, after the Information, Unity, Culture and Arts Minister came, then only I know that it was the launching of Merdeka Day.

Some were performing cincai-ly ... =(

I'm Stil Strong

This time, fever has struck me very badly. Sometime, I can't read, I can't concentrate.

I had fever too, 2 weeks ago. I went to see doctor, she gave me some medicine. I refused to buy paracetamol from her, as it would cost extra for me. I got Penadol from my housemate, anyway, thanks to her.

The doctor was not so comfortable to see me again today. She checked my body with her stethoscope, like how she did last time.

I was drinking water from the machine filter down stair, everyday. She asked me not to drink it from there anymore. Probably, the water source was not clean, perhaps, algae has bred over there.

Today, I went home to rest straight after seeking from doctor. After I woke up, there was a light headache, i was not easy to get myself to get up. Then, I had to drag myself to buy food and water. From the 5th floor, taking lift to the ground, walked, and climb up one level to buy the economy rice. With my hair untidy, who cares, I'm sicked.

I was so lazy to boiled water and eat, go toilet and do anything.

A Cross to Carry

Carrying up a cross is a no-easy task.

Following Christ is like a go against the crowd.

I was like missed out the weekend fun.

I'm like a foolish person in the world.

Live by faith, not by sight, is needed to be practice.

It's so heavy, It's so big, the cross.

Am I too stubborn to follow Christ?

Jesus, help me !

Mission Has Begun

As a new student, I have been excited to start my class. As far as I can see, 90% of my friends feel the same too.

We don't like feeling lazy to go class. We don't say: "Class again? Boring larh..."

19 of us in a class, who take Digital Film & Television (DFTV) for first semester. Almost half of us are international student. Some are from Indonesia, some are from Iran, some are from Zimbabwe, some are from countries that I never heard before. That's cool.

Today was our first day, had two subject classes. It was kinda fine. Classmates were not as friendly as I thought. But most of them have working experiences that I don't have. I'm very much to get to learn from them. Hopefully we can work as a team, in a class, in a very healthy way.

Basically, that's all. Have some assignment on hands. One of it is, I need to interview a well-known personality (eg: producer, director, or manager). They challenge us to go out-campus for our work. That's what I like too. I'm looking forward to learn more, from lecturers and fellow classmates. =)

Reluctant to Know

The grandma-type, you have met them, haven't you?

They are not to know any more. For example, you teach them computer (e-mail or play games). Now can play Mahjong on computer already? They refused to learn. They refused to know. They say: "You learn lah ..."

They thought they have already know, or they don't need to know, because they are ready to leave the earth.

I'm not here to offense anyone, but to project the image of people.

I myself, sometime, refused to learn too. For example: in shopping complex, a promoter came to promote their product. I avoid to talk to them. It's because I don't want to hear them, because I have to pay for the product!!! I usually don't use new product, it's not proven to be good to me. Promoter usually promote, not telling the ugly side, so it's hard to listen to them.

On the other side, a "product" is proven, used by many people globally, over all the earth. It's not new, it has been exist since beginning. Most important is, that it's free! We don't have to pay, as it has been paid.

You are not not-listening, you just need time. Ya, please do think about it, friend. =)

Cyberjaya

This is Cyberjaya. I assume that not many of you have came to Cyberjaya/Putrajaya. People who stay in KL/PJ also seldom come here. Haha. So, here are some brief review of my current place.

Basically, the place here is not bad. We have pedestrian path (just like Singapore). Yet, the traffic here, and population is much surprised to me. This is a city, well-build, well-architect-designed, but here is more likely a dead city/ isolated city. It's good thing also lar, no traffic jam, less polution. Amen ! =)

We have a bus stop here. Not bad uh, the design? Every bus-stop looks like that, very standardized!

This is the bus that takes me to Uni. Praise God, it's free ! Hallelujah !

Frankly, I prefer to go out at night. The night view here is cantik! Especially in Putrajaya, where the bridges are. However, I have just passed by, not been there in person. We have need a car to go there. Now, who want to come here? Hehee...

I Was Hired as Accountant !

Hey ya. I'm doing account. Haha.

I'm doing it for myself. You can do the same.

It's annoying to record down every purchase that I've made. But, it does prevent me to buy things that I don't need. So, basically my mind is "the less I buy, the less I need to remember".

I use Excel. The thing that I don't use other ready-made software in the market, it's because I can customize Excel according to my needs.

I try to get my monthly expenses lesser and lesser, haha, if it will ever happen. Well, do check with me next year, whether I still do my account. Haha. I used to write diary when I was small. Then, I stopped for don't-know-what reason. Hehe.

Today's Me

My God is still placing me under a leader who I personally think that I am better than him.

Many times, my thinking was :"I can lead better than him."

"Why I am under him?" In terms of experience, I know that I have it more. Moreover, he is not keeping everyone involve, where unity is power. When people unite, power is there.

Perhaps I have more to learn being a follower, before I have a bigger responsibilities.

Luke 16:10 says :"He that is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much: and he that is unrighteous in a very little is unrighteous also in much."

I just have to wait.

Graffiti at Pasar Seni

While I was waiting bus at Pasar Seni, I saw these people doing something on the wall.

There is a more "creative" one too:
hahaa...

This is good:

and I find this below it's outstanding, the best of the best! It came out in Thestar headline.

I Realized I'm Wrong

-I'm having a funny life.

-My housemate told me that I'm weird.

-I got a different view though.

-After I use this method, I feel it weird too. Haha.

-I'm going to get a normal-er table.

-This concept cost me RM32.80 for the table and "chair".

-However, I think, in life, we should try different ways to do things. Dare to do it, with calculated risks.

A Hero that I've Lost to

I want to share a person with you people. He is one of my respected person in my life.

He is an entrepreneur in Ipoh. He owns a company. His office is shop-lot type. He is producing video, as a platform to advertise other company.

He interviewed me when I asked for a position of video editor. As requested, I had to edit a motion picture exactly the same with their production in 24 hours.

He has a team. He leads the team. He motivates the team. In the meeting, he praises his team. He said in the meeting: "Let me introduce this guy (me), he is an expert in video editing, later he will show his work to us."

Did you know he haven't see my work yet? He said I'm an expert. However, I feel great, because he has expectation, to me(his team member). I believe you will feel the same, not mentioning it sarcastically.

I finished only about 45-seconds video, which is did not complete the 3 minutes video. He said that it was my laptop's problem, where it cannot support the editing. The real reason was my weak skill in editing. He made me feel that I was trusted in the job. I feel bad too, to disappoint him.

He said that the production (video) was not made by him, he asked me how I did it. After some discussions, I knew that he made the video, where he knows everything. After all, I feel that his knowledge is more than me, definitely. Yet, he still ask me "How to do it?" This made me think that he want to learn from me, the skills that I have, where in reality I don't have. This show how humble he was.

I'm impressed that:
1. He leads and motivates his team very well.
2. He accepts team member's mistakes.
3. He is very positive, in thinking and speech.
4. He is humble and willing to learn from younger people.
5. He has a very strong presentation skill, as well as communication skill.

In the end, to cut the story short, he was fooling me (he said it), asking me to do a video. He was actually want to see my skill (he didn't say it out). He wanted to hire promoter (I knew before I go to the interview).

Though I felt like a donkey, fooled by him. I did the video overnight, really put effort to do it. As a result, it was a just a game. However, I found it meaningful. I might look like a fool, but I have learned more than a fool.

The video really require skills and time -my eyes opened. The attitude that he has, is CEO's -I'm grateful that I met him. He is going to be success, I know it, because he has a very different attitude that I have already mentioned -successful person's attitude.

I have to mention that he is a PhD holder (EE, ME, Computer Sc, Physics, Math). He showed me his resume and his thesis. You ask yourself, where got employer show his qualification to the interviewee one. First time. LOL.

Before I leave, I asked him a question "Why do you join this field (video production)?" He replied "The forecast tells it. This business will grow. Opportunity is the key. When the time is right, do the right business." He told me also that he did years of research before he began the business.

Woow. I must take his advice. You too.

I hardly tell everything in detail here, you gonna experience it!

Win or Lose?

On tuesday, I went to Tesco Ipoh, to survey price for house furnitures. I want to buy table, chair, wardrobe and etc.

I was surprised, when I was in car park, I was about to leave Tesco. I was in the car, and my car door was opened. A guy came from behind. He was wearing formal, but not in a so-tidy way, he gave me a card.

Let me put his name as Ah Wong (not his real name), then you can get a clearer picture of the incident. After that, he said, "Have you apply Tesco Card?"

Conversation started (translated from Cantonese):
Ah Wong: Have you apply Tesco Card?

Me: Yeah, apply jor lo.

Ah Wong: (showing a card) This is a Tesco's lucky draw game. Open it up, and see what it is in inside.

(I opened it up)

Ah Wong: Wa, you got this? You need to go to our office to redeem prize lerh!

Me: Ok, what do I get? Need to pay or not one?

Ah Wong: No need pay one larh. You get one these loh, nehh. We go to the office, and I will check for you.

(The card showed 3 prizes -coffee maker, foot massager, and 1 more I can't remember)

(So, I went to his office. It's on second floor, with a not-so-good-quality name board before the staircase)

Me: What company are you from?

Ah Wong: X company. It's an advertising company.

(We went upstair. He gave me a file, with some newspaper cut-out)

Ah Wong: We give you the prize, but you need to take picture with me ah, to get published in newspaper. Can mou? Will you get malu (embarrassed)?

Me: Need to pay?

Ah Wong: No need. We give you the prize, and of course lah, you have to pay tax yourself lah. You understand mou? You go buy thing also need to give tax, correct? That tax is for government one. OK?

(Ah Wong gave me a piece of document, with some prize list and a signature required at the bottom. The prize list are: Toyota corolla, Dell Inspiron, cash RM10,000, cash RM 6,000 and etc)

Me: What is the RM4,999 for? (It's written on the document, I need to pay that amount)

Ah Wong: We will see what you will get by scanning (the silver coated circle on) the card. So you want to pay by credit card or cash? You pay the RM4,999 to us and we pay it to government. Easy for you marh! In case you did't get a price from the list, we will still give you RM10,000 as the document says. You just need to give me RM4,999. In this case, you also earn marh?

Me: Okay... I'm not very sure about this. (Ask again) What company are you from?

Ah Wong: It's a marketing company larh.

Me: Nahh... It's not that I don't trust you, but do you have some paper certification about this?

Ah Wong: Nehh ... those picture we took and the newspaper.

Me: Can I call Tesco to certify this?

Ah Wong: Oh, you don't trust me jek?

Me: I got to go. Thank you.

Note: If you're Ah Wong above, or from the same company, reading this. I'm just reporting the incident. So sorry ya.

I'm posting this, not to tell you, there is got such case in Ipoh or not, but the question is, what would you do? =)

I'm Home

A home -a place where people live togather.
A hideout where they have problems outside.
A place for family to talk.
A shelter to rest.

A house - a place for me to sleep.
A house was where I find problems.
A house was for me not to talk.
A house was for me to keep away.

Sabah is my best place to live.
As long as I'm outside the house, I'm home.
The further from house, I feel more at home.
God, where are you? What am I lacking?

The B factor

A fresh graduate engineer, can get a job with minimum RM2,000 monthly salary. It can go up to over RM10,000 per month, after years of experience. A fresh graduate who studied mass communication, get a job with monthly salary RM1,800 is not surprised. After years, one can get about RM3,000 ++.

This issue had been bugging me before this, to make decision for taking mass communication. This is the one which holds me from going further. I was thinking about my future, my car, my house, my sound systems. Ahha. Now, I have made my mind, because of this -bible.

  • Ecclesiastes 5:10 says, "Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income. ..."
Since our God holds our future, why do I need to worry about my salary? I shall work, work hard. Work not for the pay, not for the salary, not for the bosses, but work to earn treasures in heaven.

  • Matthew 6:19-20 says, "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal."

I'm a boy, having not many strength. Yet, I have a little interest in film field. I really don't know what I can do, especially for now, because I have nothing great. I would like to give my little offering for God. As God is my strength, God is my hope, God is my future, God is my everything. Then, Jesus will do the rest.

  • John 6:9 says, "Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, ..."

Jesus took the five small barley loaves and two small fish, gave thanks, and fed the hungry five thousands. It's all not about me, but how Jesus can perform miracle. I want Jesus to do that for me too. You can do the same, because God loves everyone on earth whom He created, and blesses those who believe in Him.

  • Luke 19:12-19 mentioned a parable, "A man of noble birth went to a distant country to have himself appointed king and then to return. So he called ten of his servants and gave them ten minas. 'Put this money to work,' he said, 'until I come back.' But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, 'We don't want this man to be our king.' He was made king, however, and returned home. Then he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, in order to find out what they had gained with it. The first one came and said, 'Sir, your mina has earned ten more.' 'Well done, my good servant!' his master replied. 'Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.' The second came and said, 'Sir, your mina has earned five more.' His master answered, 'You take charge of five cities.' "

Although I have not many mina, but I don't want to keep it in my pocket. I want to be like the first and second servant in the parable. I want to multiply it, for God's glory.

About me

Hi, I'm John. People call me John Lim, also Yong Kim. Whatever will do. "John Lim" & "Yong Kim" sound almost the same, aren't they? ahha.

Sometime I feel "I feel I got plenty of time". Ahha. Going round and round. Now, perhaps I'm walking the path that I should walk. I know that God is god, perfect and beautiful, nothing can be better than His plan. Everything happened for a reason, there was no mistake.

How can I assure that, there was no mistake? I'm now taking FTV (Digital Film & Television) course, some people like to call it Mass Communication. Before that, I studied physics, science stream in form 6. Then I went to Sabah to attend mechanical engineering class. That was not very relevant to my situation now.

You ask "Do you know what are you doing now?" I say yes I do. But I cant explain everything to you right now. I cant put my mind into words to people at the moment.

Why do I take up mass communication? I know myself weak in language, no matter in Mandarin, Cantonese, English, Hokkien or Malay. I know myself having problem to communicate with people. I'm having hard time to express myself. Waa, then why I choose this course?

I'm not a very bright student. Since I was small, I get average result in exams. Even my piano practical exam also fairly passed every time. 150 marks is full marks, 100 marks is passing mark, I got 101, 104, 103. Ahha. I passed UPSR, PRM, SPM, STPM, and I had chance to pursue engineering course. My future is flying high.

If I endure 3 more years in Sabah, with my fairly passed result, I can become an engineer, getting high high pay. Nope, that's not what I think. It's because, my (our) future is in God's hand. In scripture, Jeremiah 29:11 written: "... For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. ..." God has a plan for me(us).
